悲劇維度是英國(guó)作家托馬斯·哈代小說最重要的維度之一。對(duì)于主人公悲劇根源的探索有助于研究哈代小說的思想內(nèi)涵及其歷史意義。哈代小說主人公的悲劇根源(即他們的災(zāi)難性結(jié)局的根源)可以從文化角度來闡釋。在雷蒙·威廉斯文化唯物主義理論的基礎(chǔ)上,個(gè)體性文化體系的合度與失度之闡釋框架可以發(fā)展出來,用于托馬斯·哈代小說主人公悲劇根源的研究。在一定意義上,個(gè)體性文化體系的失度(簡(jiǎn)稱為文化失度)導(dǎo)致了小說主人公的災(zāi)難性結(jié)局。該專著從個(gè)體性文化體系的失度的視角研究哈代悲劇,可以對(duì)現(xiàn)代性發(fā)展過程中的道德、性格、身份和價(jià)值觀等諸多維度給予闡釋。
劉磊,男,1982年出生,中國(guó)民航大學(xué)外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院副教授,上海外國(guó)語(yǔ)大學(xué)英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言文學(xué)專業(yè)博士。主要研究方向?yàn)橛⒚牢膶W(xué)與文學(xué)理論。近年主要學(xué)術(shù)論著:《英美文學(xué)中人文情結(jié)的嬗變》;《美國(guó)“垮掉派”詩(shī)歌研究——認(rèn)知詩(shī)學(xué)視閾》[第二作者],F(xiàn)階段主講或曾經(jīng)主講“大學(xué)英語(yǔ)”、“高級(jí)英語(yǔ)”、“中西文化比較”、“基礎(chǔ)英語(yǔ)寫作與交流”(博士生公共英語(yǔ))等課程。
