商務英語作為專門用途英語，具有與普通英語不同的特點，在使用上有其顯著特色，主要表現(xiàn)在文體、語言和文化意識方面。商務英語文體講求邏輯的清晰和條理性、思維的準確嚴密以及結構的嚴謹。在對學生和老師進行調研的基礎上，我們選擇了10個高職高專學生喜聞樂見的商務主題，使學生在學習語言的同時，了解商務英語，提高語言基本技能培養(yǎng)，拓寬商務視野。
本書所有語料均選自英語國家書籍、報刊雜志、廣播電視和網(wǎng)絡，以確保語言的原汁原味、生動逼真以及內容的豐富多彩，使商務英語學習者既意識到跨文化交流中商務特點、思維方式的不同，又能在不同的文化體系中看到共通的方面，求同存異。
積極向上的選材，激活學生已有知識信息，為商務知識、技能的導入和專業(yè)學習做好堅實的鋪墊，并在潛移默化中培養(yǎng)學生形成正確的人生觀、價值觀。商務英語句子結構通常較為復雜，商務術語較多，在保證選材生動地道的基礎上，為適應高職高專學生特點，對較難的地方加以注釋，既拓展學生詞匯量，又方便學生理解。
