該書是高等院校護理專業(yè)的專業(yè)英語教材，采取英漢對照的形式編寫。以對話為主，設計了護理的10大方面，如：掛號看病、住院、護理評估、查房、手術前后的護理、心理護理、給藥、飲食護理、產婦護理、病護間健康交流等作為背景對話。每篇對話后有生詞表、專業(yè)術語表、參考譯文，還附一篇相關護理理論知識的文章供學習者學習。
《護理英語》共有11個單元，每個單元有幾個情景對話和一篇閱讀文章。每個對話部分圍繞特定的專題展開，有利于學生模仿并學以致用；閱讀文章與護理中文教材同步，并附有參考譯文。
隨著全球一體化，醫(yī)學領域的國際交流日益頻繁。越來越多的醫(yī)護人員走向世界。與此同時，隨著外資的引進，國內醫(yī)療市場的競爭日趨激烈。醫(yī)護人員提供國際化醫(yī)療服務的機會也在與日俱增。醫(yī)學人才市場需要大批的復合型高級醫(yī)學人才（醫(yī)學專業(yè)知識人才將具有更大的競爭力）。毫無疑問，持有國際認可的醫(yī)學護理證書人才將具有更大的競爭力。為了適應這一新的形勢和高等職業(yè)教育發(fā)展的需求，體現(xiàn)高等職業(yè)教育培養(yǎng)目標及辦學特色，我們編寫了這本教材。
編寫本教材的主要目的是向學生提供豐富的醫(yī)護英語資料，培養(yǎng)學生的英語交際的能力，掌握一定的英語基礎護理知識和技能，使學生具有閱讀和翻譯有關護理英語資料的能力，進行簡單的日常會話和涉外會話的能力，特別強調學生職業(yè)技能的培養(yǎng)和訓練。

The purpose of the nursing process is to provide a framework withinwhich nurse can identify the clients health care needs, establish a nursingcare plan to meet those needs, and complete the nursing interventions de-signed to meet the needs.
The nursing process is an open system, consisting of three basic fac-tors (patients behaviors, nurses responses and nursing activities benefi-cial to patients). It is made up of the following five steps.
